The Holy City of Saudia Arabia is Makkah, which is situated inland 73 kms east of Jiddah, is the area where the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was born - the place where Allah's message was first revealed to him and the city to which he came back after the migration to Madinah in 622 AD.
Makkah is the holiest place on world to Muslims. Five times every day, the world's one billion Muslims, anywhere they might be, turn to the Holy City of Makkah to pray. And at least once in their life, all Muslims who are not avoided by personal circumstances accomplish the Hajj, the pilgrimage to Makkah. Therefore annually the Holy City of Makkah is host to some two million hajjis (pilgrims) from all around the world.
